I’m developing my journal practice this year with a photography challenge to capture some wonderment – one photo, once a week, finding wonder and imagination in the every day.
I’ve decided to link my photos with a wonder-inspired poem too (because my poems often flow from photos, and are generally connected to some every-day moment).
There are two things I’m really enjoying about this practice.
One, it’s shifting my perspective. Guess what happens when you look for something wonder-ful each week? Yep, you start noticing more and more sources of wonder.
Two, it creates a visual record of the year, 52 weeks of captured moments I’ll be able to look back on at the end of it.
Here’s a slideshow of my contributions so far:
Want to play? You can read more about it here, and join the flickr group here. Don’t worry about having missed the start – 52 weeks can begin any time you want it to
PS The photos are from my alter ego the eventful poet… but that’s a whole other story
